Noonan Sport Specialists of Alexandria, Minnesota,
provides the foundation for creating better athletes and improving physical
fitness with highly qualified professionals who take a personal and individual
interest in every client. The top-notch training facilities available to clients
contribute to the successful training programs.
Mike Hawes and Dustin Schlichting , managers and trainers for NSS, started the Alexandria facility in 2007. They work with local sports teams plus prep and collegiate athletes as well as in corporate wellness and individual personal training. Their academic degrees in exercise science and athletic training laid the foundation for their professionalism and ongoing education in their field.
Their professional experience began during college with Noonan Strength Systems of Moorhead. While there, they trained under Dominic Noonan , the original founder along with his brother Ben. They brought enhanced aspects to athleticism beyond individual elements of speed, power and strength. They created a combination of athletic training components that they knew could lead to increased sports performance and individual accomplishment.
Dominic advances the principles of total athletic training in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Ben has graduated from Yale Medical School and works as an orthopedic surgeon. The Noonan system for building superior athletes continues as new facilities open in communities throughout the upper Midwest.
As business people in Alexandria, Mike and Dustin extend their professionalism as a positive influence in their community. They are actively involved in youth sports camps and programs, presentations for corporations and organizations, Chamber of Commerce membership, and participating in public events such as Women's Showcase, Wellness Fair, Lunch-n-Learn, and Alexandria Shape-Up Challenge among others.
