"Since having 3 kids, I have been up and down with my weight. The beginning of this year I weighed 137 pounds. I was exercising at the time but stress and life took me to coping with food. I had to buy new clothes that didn’t make me feel good and made me unhappy. I had blood sugars that weren’t doing well, that I occasionally checked because of my weight. Having gestational diabetes with all 3 of my pregnancies puts me at high risk for type 2 diabetes. This risk for type 2 was my wakeup call that started my journey of weight loss. So began the voyage……


I was exercising and eating healthy but just couldn’t get back into those jeans or get the scale to move. I was doing everything I thought was right. After a while I realized I couldn’t do this on my own anymore and needed some help. After reading emails about the NSS Nutrition Coaching Program, I decided to give it a shot.


I knew the accountability I had with my workouts worked, so I knew the accountability of this program could work, too. I figured this program could either help with losing weight or do nothing at all. Well, it ended up helping in a huge way.


There were so many positives that came out of the program. First, it all started with my NCP coach and the relationship we were able to form. I was leery about being open about the struggles I had been having and all the weighing and measuring. He made any and all fears I had disappear and we were instantly connected. Being open and honest with my coach is one of the most important things that helped me through this journey; I became more honest with myself. I learned what my calorie goal should be and what macros were all about. I learned that tracking with MyFitnessPal was something that didn’t work for me, and not to weigh myself every day. The accountability made a huge difference, too. Knowing that I would be weighed and measured helped to keep me going. I also learned towards the end to focus more on how my clothes were fitting vs. the number on the scale.


Through all of it I was able to go past my goal and lose 9.8 pounds and 2.4% body fat. I was thrilled with what I was able to do and can say that I’ve kept it off and still keep improving. Getting compliments is great, too.


I have to say, though, not only was it my NCP coach who helped, but all of the staff at NSS. Having the personal training go along with the NCP made a huge impact. Having 3 workouts a week at NSS and the support of the staff helped me to accomplish more than I thought I ever would. I worked harder and made more progress. Everyone works as a team.


For anyone who is thinking about joining the program, I strongly suggest you just do it. Go in with no hesitations and take in all the knowledge there is to learn about yourself and food. The coach, the advice, accountability, my health, compliments and the whole team at NSS make it well worth it. The results that come along with it all are just an added bonus.
