This summer we are excited to welcome to the facility our three newest NSS Interns - Will S., Jasmine S., and Steve T.
You undoubtedly have seen them around NSS, maybe even been helped out or coached by them, but today we want you to get to know Will, Jasmine and Steve even better.
Let's get to know Jasmine S...
What school are you coming to us from?
> Alexandria Technical and Community College.
Why did you pick your major?
> I love that I have the opportunity to influence people's lives, can help individuals achieve their goals, and am very passionate about wellness and functional mobility in daily living. I also didn't know much about strength training and how it has such an impact on everything we do throughout life.
Where did you grow up?
> Great Falls MT, Alexandria MN, Dalton MN
What did you enjoy doing / hobbies while you were growing up?
> I enjoyed trying all sports in high school such as volleyball, football, basketball, softball, hockey, and track & field. I also grew up riding dirt bike and paintballing with my three brothers which somehow always got us in trouble. Still today I love running and hope to compete in some races later on.
What is your favorite lift / gym thing?
> Use to be sumostyle deadlift until I got some help learning the kettlebell snatch at NSS.
What is your least favorite lift / gym thing?
> Forward lunges.
The best food on Earth is?
> My dad's homemade Lasagna.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
> Raising awareness and well over $250,000 for the St. Christopher Truckers Development & Relief Fund.
What is your favorite book?
> Recently How to Win Friends & Influence People because of how much I've already learned from it.
Your last vacation?
> Denver, CO for FMS Certification.
Longest you've gone without sleep and why?
> Two days working nights and class the next day at 8a.m.
Do you collect anything?
> Sea shells when I was younger.
What was your first job?
> Working with my grandma at 8 years old cleaning houses, yard work (all seasons), and gardening.
Tell us something unique about you.
> I have a beautiful baby girl named Monica. I also ran across the country for healthcare awareness and the St. Christopher Truckers Development & Relief Fund when I was 16 years old from Los Angeles, CA to Times Square in New York City, NY.
