This year we had 25 women join us for the 2015 Jeans Challenge. We started with a kick off event where we challenged everyone to NOT step on the scale for 6 weeks. We wanted these women to really look at how they were feeling and how their clothes were fitting as a measure of progress instead of having the scale label them with a number.
During the kick off we also encouraged the women to create a community of like-minded women with the same goal. The Jeans Challenge is not about someone being better than someone else, we have no winners or losers. We encourage them to celebrate their struggles and successes together and work as a team to find solutions. After 6 weeks of team and semi-private training (some people went from 0 to 4 days of training per week!) it was time to see if the jeans that couldn’t be buttoned could.
This year we had a 96% success rate and we celebrated with a private shopping event at Audrey’s in Alexandria where they were able to pick out a new pair of jeans. Our final celebration also included wine, hors d’oeuvres, manicures provided by Ella’s Salon, and a lot of laughs. Thank you to all of the women that participated and we look forward to seeing you around town in your new jeans!
