With 2016 pretty much in the bag we wanted to say a big huge THANK YOU to everyone for all of your love and support throughout the year.
As coaches at NSS we are truly blessed by the opportunities that the #NSSfamily has afforded us. Our job is energetic, fun, and extremely rewarding.
We get to smile and laugh all while helping you work toward the best version of yourself. It couldn’t get much better really!
Due in part to all of the support and belief in us as coaches and a company, NSS was able to do some great things in 2016, one of which included loading up on team talent.
We built the staff up to 9 full-time coaches. Rounding out the NSS coaching family was Katelynn in May, Tony in September, and Sabrina in November.
We also were able to host a multitude of successful events and programs throughout the year. These included Spring and Fall powerlifting meets, our 6th year of the TRAIN and STAY GETAWAY, two Masters (50+) training programs, our 4th annual Leading Training and Fitness Conference, plus more.
There was also retooling and tweaking of existing programs to make them even better for you. Our Summer Strong Series and STRONGirl Challenge are a few examples of this.
2016 was also a year of accolades and learning. It started off in February with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recognizing Dustin as the Minnesota Personal Trainer of the Year.
This is an extremely prestigious award and we couldn’t be more proud of him for it.
As a team we were also able to earn more certifications this year, with Chris completing his International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA) Youth Fitness Specialists Certification and Steve fulfilling a USA Powerlifting Club Coach certification.
Another really exciting part of 2016 for us was the ability to give back to the Alexandria community by harnessing the power (and big hearts) of the #NSSfamily.
We were proud to partner with Dollars For Scholars and award our first-ever NSS scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, to a deserving senior from Alex Area High School.
Along with this, as a #NSSfamily, we were able to collect and donate a substantial amount of food, items and $500 to the R.E.A.C.H. Team at AAHS.
These donations went to help stock and support the R.E.A.C.H. food shelf, a place for students, who struggle with hunger and quality meals at home, to get food and the basic necessities of life.
Finally, something we are extremely honored to do, was help contribute to the Douglas County Relay for Life. As a collective we were able to raise over $5,000 for the American Cancer Society, this amount putting NSS as the 5th largest team in the county.
All of us here at NSS recognize that without you, and your contributions to the #NSSfamily, none of the above would be possible.
So again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
