Meet The Team
February 6, 2018
Let’s talk a little bit about exhaustion today.
Are you tired, are you exhausted, are your days long and draining?
If so, you are not alone.
We hear that a fair amount.
“I'm just gassed."
Whether it's from work or family or kids or just the busyness of life.
“How can I have more energy?”
“What can I do to boost my energy?”
One of the positive residual effects of a consistent exercise routine is most certainly energy. An energy that can counter some of that exhaustion you are feeling.
Acutely with exercise you get your heart rate up, you get blood flowing and you get that increase in endorphins.
Over the long haul exercise helps to manage stress and can help with sleep quality. Setting up each and every day for success.
It may seem counterintuitive, especially if you are just getting into exercise.
“How can using up my energy in a workout, give me more energy?”
“Isn't exercise going to make me more exhausted? I am deconditioned or out of shape, I doubt I can even make it through a workout.”
Both reasonable, but not necessarily correct thoughts.
That is, of course, if you do exercise the right way. If you do it well, the way where you set yourself up for long term success, the way we have seen work for 10+ years at NSS.
That way is little and often over the long haul.
Finding what your limits are, not pushing outside of them, but just nudging up against them to slowly and steadily increase your capability.
Slowly increase your conditioning and capacity over time. Then you will start to notice those positive residuals of exercise all coming into play in your life.
You're going to manage your stress, you’re likely to have better quality of sleep.
You're going to see an increase in your energy, this increase is going to take away some of that exhaustion you are feeling.
So, if you are reading this today and thinking, “man, I'm always so gassed, why am I so tired”, one of the things that just might be missing in your week is a consistent exercise routine.
