It happens, and it even happens to us coaches here at NSS!!
Here are 3 tips to help you get that train moving on the tracks and on the path to a great workout, even when you wake up feeling less than enthusiastic:
👉 Own Your Mindset: Recognize that feeling like you don't want to work out is okay. Take a moment to let it sink in - live in it, without guilt or shame.
But then... remind yourself of the benefits of exercise - not just physical, but how you KNOW you will feel once it's done. Visualize how amazing you'll feel afterward, full of energy and ready to conquer the day.
👉 Set Small, Attainable Goals for the Workout: Break down the program into manageable chunks. Or, let your coach know how you are feeling right away, and we can help set you up for success.
Maybe instead of focusing on the entire session, we aim to complete just the first few sets - and see what happens. Once that train is in motion, it sometimes is hard to stop 😉
👉 Find Your Why: Connect that day's workout to your deeper motivations.
We know, through doing your Kick-Off Consult, you have a very valuable WHY. For some of you it's less aches and pain, for some it's grandkids, for some it's an epic hiking journey, and for others it's weight loss and energy.
Whatever it is, touch base with it and let it sink in again. Thinking about your clear purpose can give you the drive you need to overcome the initial resistance.
Remember, it's okay not to always feel motivated—and next time you do, try these tips.
You've got this! 💪
